Hear from representatives from Park City Municipal, the Redevelopment Agency of Salt Lake City, and the International Codes Council.

MODERATOR: Kevin Emerson, Utah Clean Energy

PRESENTERS:

Celia Peterson, Park City Municipal

Celia will explore the impact of the City’s municipal net zero performance requirement and what’s in works to incentivize private sector net zero construction. She serves as the Environmental Sustainability Project Manager for Park City Municipal. Celia and her team work on driving action to meet these goals using several strategies, including net-zero energy buildings.

Lauren Parisi, Redevelopment Agency of Salt Lake City

Lauren will speak to how RDA’s updated Sustainable Development Policy is encouraging net zero new construction and major rehabs in Utah. She is a Project Manager with the Redevelopment Agency of Salt Lake City. She received a Master’s in Public Administration and has six years of experience in city planning. Originally from Chicago, she has a general affinity for urban green spaces and sustainable building design.

Jerica Stacey and Kristopher Stenger, International Codes Council

Jerica and Kristopher will explore how the new residential and commercial Zero Energy building provisions in the 2021 IECC work.

Jerica Stacey brings over a decade of experience in the development, adoption and implementation of building energy codes and standards to the International Code Council’s Business and Product Development division as its Energy Code Specialist. Jerica supports the Code Council’s energy code initiatives, energy codes and standards technical content development, and advances its business interests related to energy codes and standards for both the national and international markets.

Kristopher Stenger, AIA, CBO, LEED AP joined the International Code Council as the Director of Energy Programs in the Spring of 2021. Prior to joining the Code Council Kris served for 16 years as an architect, permitting manager, and sustainability director in city and county government within Central Florida. A Florida licensed Architect, Certified Building Official, and Certified Sustainability Professional Kris has served on the AIA National Codes and Standards Committee; Consensus Committee Member on the ICC 700 National Green Building Standard; the ICC’s Sustainability, Energy, and High Performing Buildings Code Action Committee; and all offices of the Central Florida Chapter Building Officials Association of Florida.
